With a start, Miyuki realises he's lost.

He's at the mouth of an alley that seems... innocent at first glance. It stretches down between two buildings that didn't bother to put windows on this side and it is shadowed and cool, invitingly so with the back of his shirt still plastered to his skin in the heat, and he takes a step forward, unbidden.

Miyuki sees something glint in the distance, thinks there's a window at the end of the alley and that, perhaps, the movement he sees behind it is the silhouette of someone waving from the room within.

There's truly only one way to find out.

So, he moves closer.

Dirt crunches beneath each of his footsteps, loud like laughter.
